Might have solved the black screen issue with the Sony Blu-ray player and the LG TV. Fingers crossed - it didn’t seem to like going through the HDMI splitter. To be honest the Sony hasn’t been the greatest hardware purchase of all time, and hopefully this will solve one of the two annoyances at least.
